Volunteer Tutors Wanted

AJOB and ELIBA are always looking for volunteer tutors.

We need volunteer tutors to help our students with conversation, writing, grammar, and computer literacy.

Volunteering to help out around the office

If you have office or outreach skills, AJOB would appreciate your volunteer assistance. We need people to help with filing and typing as well as going to places around the East Bay Area to hand out flyers for us. If you have research or writing skills, your volunteer assistance in helping to develop and/or write funding proposals would greatly benefit AJOB.

Who is AJOB looking for to volunteer?

College or university students are highly encouraged to volunteer. AJOB is authorized to work with various school departments as a field work placement site. Many of our student volunteers are not only benefiting from the experience of helping people, but they are also receiving school credit towards their degree. We are also encouraging people from the community to come volunteer at AJOB and ELIBA. Many companies these days are encouraging their employees to volunteer their time and energy to help those in the community who are in need of their invaluable skills. AJOB also has a strong relationship with the Alameda and Contra Costa Volunteer Bureaus. Many volunteers are referred to AJOB and ELIBA by these Bureaus to assist our clients. If you are working through the Volunteer Bureau and have an interest in volunteering at AJOB or ELIBA please let the Bureau know.

How much time will you need to spend as a volunteer?

Your time is invaluable to us. You may spend as much or as little time working with our clients. However, we generally ask that you volunteer on a regular basis, for example, every Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. and commit a block of your time, for example, one semester or 6 weeks.
